It's always nice to see bands from the NWOBHM phenomenon rising up again to deliver nice albums. Great Britain's BATTLEAXE recorded a single and two albums in the 80s and become a sensational output to those who wanted their Metal classic and riff-full. Now, the Englishmen are back with a brand new album and I'm smiling wide with what I'm listening to. "Heavy Metal Sanctuary" is an album that denotes the band's love for classic Metal. Everything you can expect from a traditional Metal album is here: fast and loud guitars in the NWOBHM vein, some galloping bass and pounding drums lines and a string of shouting vocals that altogether round up a CD that shall be ideal for banging moments at your home or at your local Metal club. There's speed in the tracks and you can smell the air of Metal devotion in the tracklist, no questions asked. And that's enough anno 2014 from a bunch of old metalheads. The band consists 50% of two original members and the new team has brought new blood and atmosphere in the air for BATTLEAXE.
