One of Devil's biggest characteristics has to be their production quality; raw, dusty and heavy. The band's previous full-length sounded like it was recorded in a cosy old attic filled with stained vinyl records, overly used carpets and large candles. Something like that. Gather The Sinners turns up the thickness with more bass and vocals a little lower in the mix, maybe a more standard approach to the sound of DOOM.
In a nutshell Gather The Sinners is A+ material for anyone that's looking for some fun and unpretentious Witchfinder General meets Sabbath worshipping. For everyone else it may come of as another cheesy doom record that's really damn catchy.
