Don't let the pretty album cover or intellectual sounding track titles fool you, this ain't no prog or art rock malarky, this is black metal, right to the core. Even more than that, it's good black metal. Utilising fast heavy drumming and thrashy guitars - and doing it well - puts them up on a par with hundreds of other ok-ish metal bands; however Tidfall manage to push themselves that special inch ahead by incorporating synths and electronic beats into their music, reminiscent of fellow Scandinavians Dimmu Borgir or Zyklon.
