In hearing of Atomic Rooster = Digisleeve = (CD)
Atomic Rooster was the brainchild of the late lamented Hammond organ genius Vincent Crane. Originally a member of the Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, he set up his own dynamic group in 1969 that enjoyed hit singles and featured a succession of fine singers, guitarists and drummers. In Hearing Of was the bands third album, first released in 1971 and included vocalist Peter French on some tracks (who would later find fame with Leaf Hound). The rest of the line up has the excellent John Cann on guitar and Paul Hammond on drums. Among the eight original tracks are such amusing titles as A Spoonful Of Bromide Helps the Pulse Rate Go Down, which typified Vincent Cranes nervy sense of humour. But the musicianship ensured that Atomic Rooster albums were taken very seriously by fans and In Hearing Of has been hailed as an essential Prog Rock Classic. We have added a bonus track Devils Answer- a UK Top 40 hit in July 1971. Classic Roger Dean cover recently updated by Martyn Dean exclusively for this Repertoire release. Vocalist Pete French is interviewed by respected author and journalist Chris Welch for the exclusive detailed liner notes in the booklet.
