Open music (CD)
ESOTERIC RECORDINGS are proud to announce the release of a newly remastered edition of the classic 1970 release "Open Music" by celebrated Jazz saxophonist and flautist BOB DOWNES. Released in 1970 following his album for Vertigo, "Electric City" (also released by Esoteric), "Open Music" featured the leading lights of British Jazz Rock such as CHRIS SPEDDING, and featured music initially composed for modern dance. The resulting record appeared on Philips Records at the end of 1970. Outstandingly unique, the album failed to sell in significant quantities and became a highly sought after collector's item. Re-mastered from the original master tapes, this Esoteric reissue is the debut CD release of "Open Music" and is long overdue.
