Not as grand as "Pandamonium" or as aggressive as "Extremities, dirt & various emotions", '96's "Democracy" stands as one of the U.K. post-punk/industrial act's most eclectic albums, with tracks ranging from the acoustic-tinged "Savage Freedom" to the pulsing, Native American-tinged "Medicine Wheel" and the pile-driving "Another Bloody Election." Unfortunately, this was the British band's last studio album for seven years, with frontman Jaz Coleman heading up symphonic rock projects until Killing Joke's triumphant self-titled return in '03.
