AMETHYST is a french jazz fusion band with a trio formula (keyboards/bass/drums). The bands first album is composed of seven mid-long instrumental pieces, with intense and often festive atmospheres. AMETHYSTs music is in a vein near WEATHER REPORT, PAT METHENY GROUP, BRAND X, SPYRO GYRA. Nice melodies, latin rythms, lively bass parts, and some progressive influences on keyboards: here is a successful album, well played and produced.
