Huge, overarching concept albums about space and time, packed with special guests that read like a Who's Who of modern progressive rock? Albums that take as long to conceive as they do to record? That Arjen Lucassen? Well, think again.... "Golden Age Of Music", the latest album of Lucassen's not inconsiderable talent, may also offer excellent musicianship and killer melodies, but there's no story set far in the future in the depths of space. Nor are the album's 11 tracks contributed by an endless list of guest musicians. The end result is 11 tracks of energetic, progressive heavy rock that swings with the kind of groove that Deep Purple rocked with in the early to mid 1970s.
