Here's an odd little discovery that I found while surfing through youtube seeking out those most obscure one-off Prog bands. Luckily I also found they had recently reissued this forgotten album on CD! Folk/Prog I think is only half fitting for a genre descriptor, because it's also a bit symphonic and spacey as well, maybe a bit of an Eloy influence. The diverse instrumentation really sets this one apart, by using an oriental violin and a santour (which I had to look up, tis is a hammered dulcimer of Iranian origin.) I also love the stand out basslines, which are thick and syrupy with a liquid/warbly sound throughout. There's definitely a Middle-Eastern/Armenian feel here, of course mixed with a bit of symphonic space rock, giving the entire affair the fantastical mood of the Arabian Nights!
