The release of this '73 album marked a turning point for the band. They had a new label, Warner Bros, and had recently become global superstars. Still featuring the classic David Byron / Ken Hensley / Mick Box line-up, "Sweet Freedom" attempts to take that genre-defining prog metal sound that they themselves had so recently helped to invent into uncharted waters.
