Amazing, involved pyschedelic soundscapes characterise the outstanding moments in Amon Duul's long and distinguished krautrock career. Munich-based, they were amongst the first prog-rock outfits from Germany to gain a wide audience in England. 1969's "Phallus Dei" comes from their classic period, with the guitar playing here by Chris Karrer and Johannes Weinzierl out-spacing "Dark Star" by the Grateful Dead.
