Originally released last year on Metalsucks, NYC based Meek Is Murder dish out 10 tracks of lightning quick, ultra heavy, bewilderingly technical metallic hardcore that'll leave your head spinning. Bands that display such a dizzying array of technical know-how can sometimes risk sounding a little over-produced and neutered in the process. No chance of that here; Algorithms is fucking blistering from start to end and Meek Is Murder toss out ideas and impossibly cool moments like they're running out of time. Songs begin, bash your skull in and before you realise what's happened the next one is revving up. 7 of the 10 tracks clock in at under 90 seconds long and it's hugely impressive that even on tracks like opener 'Hello, World!' they still pack in more than some bands do on a whole record. Huge swathes of riffs and chaos crash down like tidal waves, calling to mind Curl Up And Die's criminally overlooked final record 'The One Above All, The End Of All That Is' with its downcast brutality. In fact, any fan of early 2000's metallic hardcore is going to be right at home, and if you can count 'Calculating Infinity', 'Jane Doe' or 'Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child' among your record collection then I suggest you get right on this.
