Metz = LP = (LP)
Originally released in 1974 on Chrome Starr records (A take on Lone Star) these guys played raunchy glam rock with black background singers (Think "Black Coffee" by Humble Pie) The songs reek of sex, partying, and feature killer guitar solos and Hammond B-3 breaks alongside sporting a very Ron Goedert-styled (White Witch) lead singer (one William Metzler who was also the band leader and guitarist). This is a lost classic and thankfully dug up by Rich Haupt & Co. Some may complain of the lack of fadeouts and how the songs go on too long, but I think this is a benefit, not a hindrance. As the Acid Archives says the band give time for the MDA-snorting, sped-out audience to dance to and I'm sure Metz were a live favorite in the area. It's still fairly unknown, there's a needle drop of the original Chrome Starr on Youtube for you to check to see if you want to buy. I have not seen anything else by Ossining so methinks this was just made for this album alone, but I could be wrong. This is a nice reissue and I see PCMTR in the deadwax - recommend for fans of Humble Pie, glam era Mott the Hoople, and Florida glam-psych band White Witch (Capricorn Records). Get it while it's still cheap!
