Gems revives an era when Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler (currently hobbled after taking an on-stage tumble), was once America's nimblest rock star with a full complement of working limbs. Cherrypicking the highlights of the group's career prior to their MTV-assisted reinvention, the gems remain those tracks drawn from Get Your Wings, Toys In The Attic and Rocks (1975-'77), among them Rats In The Cellar and the dazzling Lick & A Promise, while wisely only the better moments are drawn from 1978's erratic Draw The Line onwards.
