This album is a reissue of the Jon McLaughlin recording made with Orangehaus Records in 2004 while Jon was attending school in Indiana. The album's piano-driven pop songs made such an impact on college radio that Island Records soon added Jon to their roster of talented artists. Two songs from The Early Recordings, "Industry" and "Already In," were rerecorded for McLaughlin's debut album, Indiana, with Island Records in 2007. His sophomore album, OK Now, was released by Island in 2008 and he is currently working on a new album that will be available later this year. Jon McLaughlin's growing fan base landed him tours with Sarah Bareilles, Kelly Clarkson, Colbie Caillat, Paolo Nutini, Duffy, and One Republic. His songwriting and piano playing prowess earned him national acclaim when his music was featured on television shows and in movies, such as Scrubs, Ghost Whisperer, A Little Thing Called Life, Georgia Rule, and Bridge to Terabithia. But McLaughlin's album sales began to soar after his appearance in Disney's Enchanted and his performance of "So Close" on the worldwide telecast of the 80th Annual Academy Awards.
