Directed by Peter Watkins - best known for his Oscar-winning 1965 short film teh War Gane - Privilige is a cult classic from 1967. Starring Manfred Mann's singer Paul Jones and supermodel Chrissie Shrimpton. It concerns the attempts of the state to control the masses by manupilating a pop star. It's soundtrack combines hip pop and incidental baroque sounds from Mike Leander (who worked with the Beatles at much the same time). And has gone on to influence artists as diverse as Patti Smith and Morrisey.
