Wachstum ("Growth" in English), a debut album by SEHNSUCHT was recorded live-in-studio at the "RockSPb" rehearsal center. It moves closer to actual song structure than any of numerous improvised sets which were played by the band throughout the first two years of their existence. Their manipulations with distortions, feedback noises, and alternate tunings are now used to provide texture and expression to the music, which is vigorous and rewarding. But it still remains unpolished and adventurous jam per se, which rocks and rolls along with hypnotic beats, heavy guitar riffs, and wailing processed synthesizers. This is a motoric instrumental ride through territories of heavy psyche, space rock, and noise-rock for fans of early German Kraut subculture
