The ROOTS OF series attempts to give the listener insight into a particular artist's influences. The Black Crowes' sound has always hearkened back to the early days of British blues rock, so it's no surprise that this edition showcases some classic blues tracks which were vitally important to the development of that genre. Highlights include Robert Johnson's "Hellhound on my Trail" (one of Eric Clapton's all-time favorite recordings) and Son House's stirring meditation on love lost, "Death Letter Blues."
