Essay was the 1991 debut by Danish multi-instrumentalist Robin Taylor. The recordings were done under terrible circumstances; poor equipment and a very low budget. Nevertheless, Essay made a promise for the future, as Taylor has become one of the most prolific Scandinavian recording artists around the millenium, working with some of the most important people of the progressive scene in Denmark. Essay could be described as 'minimalistic art rock', playful and experimental, and it shows how it all started.
