It's November '64 and a new group are about announce themselves in a big way. Your radio station DJ says something about "Moody Blues".... There's a split-second's silence, then someone - who you'll soon discover is named Denny Laine - lets out the plaintive cry "We've already said..." Mike Pinder's piano block chords crash in beneath the word "goodbye", and the song called 'Go Now!' keeps you glued to the wireless. Then you rushed to your local record seller - and became one of more than a million like-minded souls who couldn't wait to own a copy of that 45rpm!
Apart from those fortunate enough to have already seen them in concert, that's how most of us became acquainted with the Moodies. For the next three years, the five lads from Birmingham attempted to emulate that success and cut some terrific tracks in the process.
Based on their original debut dozen track long player, this 'Magnificent Moodies' suffixes the additional fourteen titles released by the original line-up on singles between 1964-66, including the ultra-rare 'People Gotta Go', issued only in France. An informative 2,500 word essay accompanies the music. Incl. 14 bonus tracks !
