Here Comes The Neighbourhood (CD)
Frontman and key songwriter Alan Hull is gone, replaced by Billy Mitchell, leaving Rod Clements and Ray Laidlaw from the original group. The resulting album strikes out for a few different stylistic corners, including a strong hint of country, but it never rises up enough to really make any sort of solid impression -- all of the songs have a journeyman air about them, and a tone that avoids annoyance while failing to catch the attention. Overall, the album sounds fine, but it's really as ephemeral as fairy frost. ~ Steven McDonald, Rovi
