The Wheels LP may be 45 years in coming, but it is well overdue. The Phil Smee-designed sleeve has such a classic period look that you would swear it came out at the time. The album has a different cover shot - one not seen before - and a comprehensive sleeve note by Shindigs Jon "Mojo" Mills based on interviews with Wheels lead singer Rod Demick Road Block by The Wheels is one of the all-time great (and expensive) freakbeat /garage 45s. The Wheels were contemporaries of Thems lead singer Van Morrison who almost joined the band several times. Both the wilder demo version of Bad Little Woman (the one the Shadows of Knight covered) and the UK version are also high up on the list of screaming 60s punk. These are the complete Wheels sessions - a lesson in British (and Irish) beat music of the time.
