Quantos Possunt Ad Satanitatem Trahunt = LP = (LP)
There are Black Metal fans that love this album and there are those that hate it. Why the disparity? The one thing about the haters is that these are the same folks who feel that Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth "sold out" and that true Black Metal means: low recording quality, repetitive chord progressions, and boring vocal patterns - all smeared with white face-paint. Folks, THAT is not Black Metal; THIS is Black Metal.
This album blew me away and I feel it is Gorgoroth's best and most memorable album. The recording quality is very good, which is sure to tick off grumpy Black Metal haters. The songs on this album are catchy for black metal but never come close to even sniffing the realm of the mainstream. The first couple songs are more typical and as the album progresses, it gets more technical. This was probably intentionally done to keep the haters happy, although it still didn't make them happy enough as everyone can see from the negative reviews. But, anyway, some of the songs on this album are outright brilliant. Songs such as "Human Sacrifice" and "Satan-Prometheus" are incredible - having both thrashy elements and Black Metal elements with tons of emotion and atmosphere.
