What immediately sets this album apart from their previous offerings is the greater role given to Jana Carpenter whose vocals become a sparring partner for Tim Elsenburg and there are moments here which transcend anything they have ever done before. No mean feat, considering how highly regarded their previous work is. 'Slingshot' is a perfect example of this, set to a lurching beat that threatens to turn into Massive Attack at any moment, the separation of the vocals serves to make a passionate, intense story but filled with cinematic wonder.
