Classic madness and violence! Death Metal history, the ultimate edition! Death Strike hardly need to be introduced to anyone who would call himself a connoisseur of the death metal scene. The album now has almost cult status as a genre classic and not without reason. This re-release of the 1991 album combines the debut demo from '85 with four additional tracks for the quite aptly titled "Fuckin' Death" and honestly, could you find a more fitting description for the sensory destruction on these recordings? It's the fact that half of the material was recorded in the mid-eighties that really makes it stand out. Between the crust-influenced dreck of Hellhammer and its ilk and a more brutal variety with bands like Possessed and Slaughter emerging from the underground with a much more powerful and brutal form of metal never heard before, and considering it was released at the same time as those two bands, you wonder why it never got as much attention as it did because it was just as influential, if not more so, than those classics.
