March 17:th is the release date of Swedish band Brukets highly acclaimed debut album
"En Annan Klass". The album is produced by Pelle & Nicke Almqvist, known from the Swedish world famous rockpunk-combo known as The Hives. So what does this band bring to the world musically? Well, Brukets music is rooted in the 70:s punk flavoured with the melody and hit-potential performed by the biggest rockbands during the 80:s. Spice this up with classic 60:s rock and I think you´ll get the picture. The songs are often short and frenetic, intense Stooges-riffs walks hand in hand with Clash-like melodies topped of by the energy and
attitude of The Hives. Bruket will perform live extensively after the album release, the band is already on the bill for this years West Coast Riot Festival in Gothenburg which already has an amazing line-up with The Hives, Flogging Molly, Bad Religion and Dropkick Murphys to name a few.
Excerpts from album reviews:
TT Spektra (4/5)
"A band who plays punk in an elegant fashion. Bruket, spring 2010, feels like the most important Swedish band."
Dalarnas Tidningar (4/5)
"The lyrics ooze frustration over politics and society in general. It´s direct, refreshing and charmy. My punkdreams remain
alive for a while longer."
Nöjesguiden
"Bruket is so authentic that they easily could be a Malcolm McLaren-project : they live in a small Swedish town (Fagersta) where
they work in shifts at a factory producing barb-wire and play punkrock on their free-time, singing about burning down City Hall.
The full-length album is fantastic, released during the end of march 2010."
Kristianstadsbladet
"Bruket are exactly where the want to be. Very few bands today lift their eyes, look around thoroughly and come to a conclusion.
It can be called political. It can be called being alert. An ambition to express something from the present."
