Five years down the road from the last batch of new songs, Redemption returns, with a twist. Guitarist Bernie Versailles has had a health scare, and is in a long recovery which prevented his participation. Founder Nick van Dyk has made the best of it, by bringing forth a lineup of killer guests to pitch in and help him with the guitar solos. A good portion of them are handled by Ohm/Damn the Machine/Megadeth shredder, Chris Poland. His is a unique voice on the axe, as is fellow guest ripper, Marty Friedman, who features on a couple of tracks. Former Jag Panzer/Nevermore/Megadeth member Chris Broderick is also included on one tune, which actually has all 3 former Mega dudes. My favorite guy sitting in here though, is Simone Mularoni, truly one of the great technicians in metal. His playing on the last couple DGM records has been brilliant, and his work here is on par. His solo on Slouching Towards Bethlehem is destined to be ranked highly for years to come.
